Why Indonesian hate Malaysian?

It would be a good idea to be a little careful right now, Malaysia has had some very bad press in Indonesia just recently, not helped by the fact that Indonesia's most wanted terrorist was Malaysian and a perception that Indonesians working in Malaysia are treated very badly including physical abuse and even at best without equality.

I have a friend that has to be based in Malaysia for an NGO even though she spends a lot of her time traveling around Indonesia. Just because she is from Indonesia, she is paid less than her Malaysian subordinates because her managers are Malaysian.

Malaysia has recently stolen a group of islands from Indonesia, the list goes on. Indonesians also seem to think that Malaysians are a little backward and too conservative and undemocratic.

I'll stop there, there is a lot more I can say...

Some people have ignorant attitudes like anywhere in the world, but most Indonesians are courteous and lovely people. Most of the mistrust is caused by misunderstanding and what people hear in the media, and would change once they know you. The fun you had on holiday would continue if living there, as long as you can handle the occasional unpleasant experience when you come across those ignorant and nasty people who exist.

Malaysian people speak the same language (with little differences),

they look more or less the same, so why should you have any problem

in Indonesia. If you show a weird attitude, people will not like you in

any other country. If the avatar shows a picture of you, I like you already.
