where is "select as Best Answer" for one's question? --can never find?
I've had trouble in the past *finding* any button/etc that would allow me to choose a Best Answer and thought I'd looked everywhere for it.
I finally looked up the Help on giving a Best Answer again (it's below) so want to try this again to make absolutely sure I'm looking in the right place, and can find it (in 4 hrs).
Does anyone have any other tips for me on exactly where to find it, or what might prevent it from showing up for me?
TIA,
Diane B.

What do I have to do once my question has been answered?
August 21, 2007
Once your question has been posted for at least 4 hours, you can:
* Choose the best answer (must have at least one answer):
CLICK CHOOSE AS BEST ANSWER NEXT TO YOUR CHOSEN ANSWER. Your question is considered "resolved" when a best answer is selected.
* Let the Answers' community choose the best answer (must have at least two answers): Click Edit in the action bar below your question and from the edit menu, select Ask for a Vote.
If you're not satisfied with any of the answers, you can also extend your question's expiration date and wait for more answers. To do this, click Edit in the action bar below your question and from the edit menu select Extend Expiration.
If you don't choose a Best Answer, put it to a vote, or take steps to extend the question, it automatically goes to a vote after 4 days.
Thanks for prompt responses! I think the "secret" is that one has to go to the *Profile* page, not on the answer pages where I've been looking (don't think that's ever mentioned in Help!). And thanks also to S.O.S. who mentioned refreshing the page (and John T, who added details about hovering and Ask For a Vote).
I don't think I ever have been able to give a Best Answer tho I've asked few questions, and gotten few answers,
(I definitely knew to wait --never tried to give BA before a few days.)
I will wait the 4 hrs now then check to make sure the Best Answer option IS in fact on my Profile page, then go through the motions so I'll remember.

If you ask questions, you have to wait for four (4) hours after asking the question in order to choose the "best answer." That's to give folks a fair chance to log in and find your question. Many of us log on and off periodically during the day and we may not be online when you posted.
Once the four (4) hours have elapsed, go back to view the question. You can do that by clicking on "My Profile" near the top the page, right hand side under the word "discover."
Once you're at your profile, look under your avatar (photo) and you'll see a list of all the questions you've answered plus a tab you can click to see the questions where you were chosen as "best answer," the questions you've asked and the questions you've starred.
Click on the word questions and you'll see the list of your questions, click the question and it shows you not only the question but all the answers. There will be a blue box under each answer. Click the box of the answer you liked best. You will get 3 points for choosing.
Be sure you pick the "best answer" before the time for answering expires or it'll be too late, it'll go into voting.
IF YOU DIDN'T ASK THE QUESTION, to vote on unresolved questions click the "answer" toolbar at the top of the page then click on the "vote" tab and it'll show you a bunch of questions in voting

- Wait for a minimum of 4 hours before choosing a best answer.
- Don't wait to choose a best answer after 4 days, or the question will expire and come In Voting.
1) Find a great answer to your question. It should be a correct, helpful, honest answer.
2) Below the answer, click on the blue bar that says 'Choose As Best Answer' It will turn light green when you rollover it.
3) Rate the best answer 1-5 stars.
4) Comment/reply to the user.
5) Click 'OK'
6) You earned 3 points for choosing a Best Answer and the person you chose as Best Answer earned 10 points.
If you cannot decide an answer to your question because all of the answers are exactly the same help, you can go to the pencil icon 'Edit' and set your question into Voting.
If you want to set your question open for another 3 days, you can go to the pencil icon 'Edit' and click on 'Extend Expiration'. But you can only do this one time.

How To Choose Best Answer
After you ask a question you have a FOUR HOUR WAIT and a blue box will appear under each answer to your question. Click on the answer you deem best. That will allow you to rate the answer, one to five stars, and leave a comment as to "why you picked" ,or a "thank you" ,to the best answer. Picking a best answer will give you 3 points, so your question only costs you 2 points. If you give the Best Answer thumbs up, it will give the answerer extra points.
If you have trouble choosing a best answer, go here for criterion:
http://yanswersblog.com/index.php/archives/2009/09...
If, after all that, there are two or more you just can't choose between, HOVER your cursor over the time that the answer was received (four hours ago) and it will tell you who answered first; down to the second.
If you STILL can't decide, go to edit (the pencil) and choose "Ask for a Vote" on the drop-down menu : the question will go to IMMEDIATE vote.......but,....you will NOT get 3 points for choosing Best Answer with this option
If you do not pick a best answer in FOUR DAYS it will automatically go to community vote, where, often the best answer is NOT picked.
.
Hope this helps......JT
PS-----I guess I'm a bit confused.....You have obviously chosen bet answer in the past. so what is this about? IF, after the 4 hour wait you are NOT seeing the blue bouttons under each answer then you should contact Yahoo and report the problem.
This is Y!A's email:
y_answrs_team@yahoo.com
(The missing "e" in answers is intentional)
Hope this helps.....JT

Hey! :)
Well, after about four hours, your answers be able to be chosen as Best Answers. To access it, ask your question, then wait four hours. After that, check back on your Profile (I would refresh the page) and scroll down to Questions. Click on that.
After that, you can read your question again. You can scroll down and see how many answers there are. After four hours' period of time, they appear with a blue button at the end saying "Choose as Best Answer". You can look through them, then choose the one that best fits your question.
After about four-to five days, though, the questions go over to a vote if you fail to choose a best. They go into questions in Voting, where other users can choose a best. It can take more than a week or month just to have one selected, and usually tiebreakers go on forever because Voters aren't interested in that. I would suggest picking one. You never get to find your best Voted chosen answer. :)
Hope I help!

i don't comprehend this, surprisingly once you earnings back 3 of the 5 factors you lose for asking a query. I continuously pick a ultimate answer. f something, I try this too quickly (after a million day), so i don't supply human beings sufficient of a time to respond to.

It's normally visible after 4 hours.

Yes, it makes you wait 4 hours before it comes up.
