If someone else wrote the Harry Potter series, do you think that it would be as popular as it is now?
I mean, if someone else instead of Jo thought of it, do you think it would be better or worse?
What if they wrote it from first person? Or Snape's POV?
Thoughts below.

Well, if somebody like Stephenie Meyer wrote it, it would definitely be popular, but there would be too much emphasis on romance, Quidditch would be called Wizard Cricket on Broomsticks, and the plot would not have been very strong (or even thought out that much) and Voldemort probably never would have even been defeated. At the climax of the story, he'd be all like, "You're going to die, Harry, after all these years!" Then he'd come up with some lame excuse like, "Oops, left my haircurler on. We'll finish this in the sequel!" (Too bad he didn't get the memo that this was the last book and so he won't be kicking some Potter *** in the next one.)
In short, it wouldn't have been very good.
Another way Meyer could write it: Definitely from the first-person perspective. She'd probably give Harry a sex change. He'd be Harrietta, a shy, clumsy witch who keeps getting into trouble and her best friends, Veronica and Hermes, are always there to help her get out of it. She would probably have a thing for Voldemort, despite the fact that he wants to kill her.

It really depends on who would have written it. Every writer has their own style and Jo's writing style made Harry Potter what it is today.
If it was from Snape's point of view, it would be just... different. It's supposed to be about Harry and his life and Snape is a major character in Harry's life. It just wouldn't be the same.

I think it would be a popular book series, but it wouldn't be the same, Jo is such an amazing writer and I think that her future projects will astound us
