What's taking so long!?

Why am I getting Best Answer awards for questions that were done 2 years ago? I was the one and only answer, why 2 years to award the best?

The asker did not choose the best answer and let it go to the public vote and I guess that no one has voted on that question until now. The Tiebreakers Group are clearing questions that are 2 years old in their focus category so perhaps this was one of them.

If all askers would choose their own best answers we would not have to wait nearly 2 years for the best answer to arrive.

Yeah, your questions went to voting. Everybody can vote, not everybody on here has heard of voting, or knows how to vote. If I said here my opinion of what percentage of members know about voting, I would get a violation. So there is only so many people voting. I do, but when I do, as a member of a group, I vote for questions that have been in voting for years or months. When not, I'm less picky in my choice of question. When the question has a best answer decided by voters, it gets resolved; the asker gets 3 points and the answerer gets 10 points. Just exactly like if the asker chooses a best answer before the question expired.

Everyone who asked or answered a question has a list of questions they were involved in, it's on their Answers profile page. If they chose to, they could find all their questions and find out what status the question is in without even going into the question. Then vote.

Because other users never bothered picking or voting
