Dining and shopping near Port of Miami?

We’re going on a cruise and have a full day in Miami before we disembark. Does anyone have any recommendations for dining or shopping very near the Port of Miami? We’re hoping for something fun that will give us a nice glimpse of Miami (and full bellies)!

Bayside Marketplace is right at the entrance to the port bridge. It includes a Hard Rock Cafe, Bubba Gump's, Hooters, Latin American (Cuban) Los Ranchos (Nicaraguan) The Knife (Brazilian) & others. You will also be near the (free) Metro-Mover that can take you throughout downtown Miami & across the river to Mary Brickell Village with its numerous locally famous restaurants, bars & hangouts. Or you can take a cab to Sobe for less than $20.
