How do I get msgs. off my phone service voicemail, & onto some permanent storage? My man passed away in Apr.,?
My man, whom I loved so dearly, passed away in April, 09. Beforehand, he had left voicemail messages on our voicemail. These mean so much too me; therefore, I so very much desire keeping them! (There's approximately 7-8 messages). The dilemma: the messages are on my phone company voice mail (Sage Telecom). I need to get the messages off there, & onto some type of permanent storage. As things stand, if I were to switch phone companies, or get my service disconnected for any reason, I'd forever lose these very important highly sentimental messages. I've called the Geek Squad, & the phone company, & got nowhere. They claim there isn't a way to do it? But, I don't believe that. Can someone PLEASE solve this for me? I'd be so VERY grateful!

Of course it can be done and I'm surprised that no one you've talked to had the common sense to suggest it.
If you can still playback the messages, there is nothing stopping you from recording them with a small handheld tape recorder held up to the telephone or speakerphone. There are more elaborate ways to do this but sometimes a simple, easy to understand, low tech approach is all that it takes. While you're at it, make and label several copies and punch out the tabs on the rear spine of the cassettes so your messages don't get accidentially erased.
You can go a little bit higher tech by getting an mp3 player that also records. Those files could then be copied to your computer and then made into a CD.
