I have had PCOS for six years and have had three pregnancies. Initially my periods were irregular so the doctor put me on Metformin, which is an insulin regulator. Insulin makes your hormones work more efficiently and helps to restore your periods back to normal. My periods came back the very first month I was on it and have not skipped a beat ever since. Metformin (or generic Glucophage) usually only costs $4-10 without insurance so it's relatively cheap. You usually take anywhere from 2-3 pills a day with your meals and you'll feel the difference in energy in no time. I was also overweight which contributed to my PCOS. In a matter of a few months of Metformin (It helps with weight loss) I lost 50lbs and all my hormones on my blood tests went back to normal which meant that I was once again fertile. Don't be devastated by it - so many women go on to conceive within a matter of months as long as they are taking their treatment, eating right, and exercising to keep their hormones in check. Good luck!

I don't know much about PCOS, but you can go to twoweekwait.com and read people's conception stories. I know there are quite a few who have PCOS.
