What is the [H+] of a solution with a pH of 4.23? Please help me understand how to answer this problem, thanks?

    The formula for pH is:

    pH = - log [H+]

    so, we need to go backwards and solve for [H+]:

    - pH = log [H+]

    10^ - pH = [H+]

    So, 10 to the power of -4.23 is:

    0.0000589 M of H+
