Why does R&S continue putting up deleted questions?
Once you answer a question, two topical questions appear above the main page of the question you just answered. For 4 days now, a deleted question still is there. Now a 2nd has joined it. Would anyone happen to know why when a question is deleted, it does not go away?

I don't have the same problem with 4-day-old deleted questions..usually I only see them for a few minutes.
I'm sure this is because the engineers at Yahoo cache certain data such as the question listings to make the website load a quite a bit faster, so there is a disconnect between when a question is marked as deleted, and removed from the listing.
When you deal with massive databases that process upwards of 50k transactions per second (like the one(s) running Yahoo! Answers)....this kind of engineering is required or the database simply won't handle the load and the whole thing will come crashing down.

I think those questions go into the rotation and are randomly picked by the computer. It probably hasn't been set up to delete questions the Y/A police have deleted.

YA has a lot of bugs. Instead of investing so much time and effort in deleting questions/answers that harm no one the staff of YA really should be working more at fixing all of the bugs.

Wrong section to ask. Because of that, it should be deleted. (But people will still be able to read the title because it will be stuck here for 4 days……..)
