What is the name of the chord that connects a guitar to an amp?

is it just a guitar chord?...i remember asking my friend a while ago, but I dont remember the answer, and dont want to sound like an idiot when I go to look for a new one at the store.

    it is a phone cord... (no not telephone, the end is called a phone connector from back in the day when those cords were used in telephone switchboards)

    for your purpose it can be a guitar cord... a guitar patch cord.. or anything similar to that... the guy in the store will know what you are talking about...

    A guitar chord is a combination of three or more notes played simultaneously on a guitar that sound good together.
