What do atheists believe?

I'll try to avoid rudeness, but I won't side-step the issues. I will be direct. Don't take that as trying to be rude. DO take it as intending to give straight answers.

Atheists have a variety of beliefs. I happen to believe in the reality of evolution. If you take it back that far, evolution says we started from one-celled life forms. I will add that not all atheists share my beliefs. But I can say without fear of contradiction that many people share this belief.

A minor correction: We are not descended from monkeys. We and monkeys are evolutionary cousins, both descended from a common but now extinct hominid.

If there is no higher power (as we atheists believe), then we weren't PUT on Earth at all. It's the wrong verb if there is no God. We just sort of happened. Popped up like weeds in a pasture.

What is the point? Life is what you make of it. You start with a pretty much pointless life. As you mature, it is up to you to decide the point of your life and then act to make it so. YOU get to choose, if only you would take control of your life in your own hands rather than waiting for a sign from someone we don't believe exists.

Atheists believe a number of things.

They however don't believe in gods.

That is the only thing which all atheists believe.

Other things like the meaning of or the origins of life etc. well there are many theories and "beliefs" amongst atheists as there are theories on anything else.

My opinion as to how man or even creatures got here in the first place, science is still looking into that.

Evolution has been proven but as this has happened over billions of years surely you don't expect answers just yet do you.

What is the point?? basically there is no point. Each individual gives their own life purpose according to them.

Natural Processes. I personally don't know all the details, but nature is the driving force.

First of all, never listen to a preacher talking about is. Show me a preacher who doesn't Strawman us when he talks about us and I'll eat my hat.

Anyway, the earliest living organisms were amoeba-like. Then jellies, then fish, then mammals, then monkeys, then apes, then us. And evolution tends to branch in different directions so that's where everything else comes from.

It was a single celled plant/animal - blue green algae. It was one of the first items to develop on this planet.

Everything, all plants and animals, eventually developed from that, 4 billion years or so.

You are assuming that we were "put" here rather than develop here.

The point of life is life.

I'm really sick of answering this questions. Honestly. I am. The answer never changes. The only thing that an atheist is is someone who doesn't believe in god. No other thing thing connects them.

We don't 'believe' in any particular thing - we just know that there is no god.

The reason we are here on Earth is to further the species - this is our biological imperative.

We believe in evolution. We believe that there doesn't have to be a reason for our existence or that the reason is reproductio like all other creatures. If you want you can pm me and I can explain my beliefs :)

I believe, that if you rent a safe deposit box, and put a fish in it. Then after a year, when the payment for the box is past due, you'll be in for a laugh.
