What to do with this toad?
I was digging around the barn today, and evidently I dug up a hibernating toad. What's the best thing to do with it?
Bury it?
Leave it in the grass?
Leave it in the barn?
Bring it in till it wakes up, then put it out on a warm day?
I really don't want a pet toad. So what should I do with it? It's going to be 20F tonight, 40F tomorrow.

Did you wake it?
If you didn't wake him, I would put him back in the ground where you found him. Then try and sort of "fix" where you dug it up, but don't just bury him completely, you know? That way he can still get air in there, and he won't get squished.
If you woke him up, I would keep him inside and take care of him until spring.

if you put in the barn or outside it will probly died becouse they can not survive in cold weather......
which is why they hibernate. so if you have something to put it in you could either keep it somewhere warm till spring or give it to sum kid that likes toads

put it back in the barn right where you left it, cause if you dont it will be very confused when it wakes up and it could easily die.
