Since tens of billions have been squandered along the channels of corruption over the past few years, there's not enough money to finance our government budget now which is why they are introducing new means of income. Sad news for Malaysians and here we are having to shoulder all kinds of tax burdens only to see half of it going into unnecessary projects, bad loans, patching up inefficiencies and ........(fill in the blanks)

GST works well in countries where governments are efficient and funds are properly managed, distributed and well-invested. Otherwise the long term consequence are rising prices, rising labor cost, export incompetence, stagnant economic growth, increasing discontent, more social conflicts and more crimes.

somebody in the parliament think that it is a good idea to introduce GST in Malaysia. normal sales and service tax, which you pay at fast food restaurant for example, will be abolished. i just hope that the proposal will go down the drain just like many of Malaysia's ambitious rules such as the back seat belt rule.
