My adult dog is peeing on everything?

I've raised my dog since he was a puppy. He was completely potty trained until recently. In the past year, I have moved from my parents house and he had to stay at their home for the time being. Also, there has been a new male puppy introduced to my parents home, of whom spends a lot of his time there. I was wondering if either of these could factor into my dog urinating on everything at my parents house: the couch, chairs, even the wall. Like I said, he's never done anything like this before. Could he be upset with me for leaving him? Or missing me? Or is he marking his territory because of the new pup? Any advice would be great.

If you find large puddles of urine on the floor it is more likely that the dog had to pee and couldn't or didn't want to go out. With urine marking the dog deposits a smaller amount of urine. Marking in the house is usually done to an upright surface such as a doorway, table leg or piece of furniture. Dogs often mark on objects. Quite often the object is something new or different with unfamiliar smells that has come into the house.

He may be upset, at both missing you and the new puppy. He may just be marking his territory, but just in case, i'd take him to the vets for a check up as it may be a medical problem.

My yorkie will move external once we are paying concentration - he's going to move scratch on the door and tell us - but when we AREN'T paying concentration he's going to frequently run proper upstairs (the ONLY situation that we have got carpet) and pee there. I have observed that the excellent resolution is quite to only preserve an eye fixed on him and provide him concentration but when you're not able to observe him, than crate him for awhile till you'll be able to (however do not go away him in there too lengthy he's going to resent it!) Good success :)

maybe there is a medical reason- or the dog is just mad for bringing in a new pup and he is marking his territory.

maybe he needs to be fixed.

Most likely marking. Is he neutered? If not, it helps but is not a cure all.

He needs to be corrected when caught. All areas thoroughly cleaned.
