trying to burn a movie file that is 4499.13 mb (4.39 gb) on dvd+r (4.7gb) 4822.2mb ,?
but it says i only have 4482.63 mb (4.37gb)available. any suggestions

The 4.7 gig is total disk space. The usable space is actually 4.37 gig because of the space used for the partition in which the database and other data required to allow the computer to recognize the disks contents are stored.
There are lots of file compressors (freeware and commercial) that can be used to compress the video files. Be advised that minimal compression won't affect playback, (as in your case here) but extensive compression affects video quality and smoothness of playback.
Do a search for "video compression software" and you'll find many for all platforms. (You didn't say if you were on a Mac, Windows, or other system.) Try changing "software" to "freeware" in your search to see if any of the freeware available does what you want. (before plunking down money) Some offer trail versions that work for a certain amount of time or number of uses that would work unless this is going to be a long term need.
