Have you done anything for someone for this Holiday season that really mattered?

I gather winter coats, warm cloths, blankets, toiletries, anything I can find to take to the homeless Veteran's, really anyone homeless, after a few years my Pastor started driving me because I'm losing my sight. Pastor told the church about the homeless shelter & he & my Church have been going for several years. This is such a blessing because this year my husband had been laid off a year last Oct. I hadn't been able to buy anything & didn't expect to get to go. I ask Pastor Paul if I could go with them, & that I was sorry I hadn't been able to get anything but a couple of coats & blankets.

That very week people started giving me so much to give to the homeless, I thought I'd been helping, it was the Lord giving me the chance to help & this year he showed me without a shadow of a doubt He was the supplier. I knew it but at the same time when you do something for awhile you just get to thinking it won't get done without you. I've been about as humbled as I've ever been this year, but I never needed cloths, food, or shelter; but the Lord really let me know what humble was when I called my Pastor & told him my Jeep was filled to overflowing-clear to the ceiling... Thank you for letting me share this It's probably one of the best gifts I've ever gotten ...Merry Christmas & God Bless

I'm giving my family some treats from See's (we love See's :D) and a Starbucks gift card for my mom, who loves coffee, a bunch of my dad's favorite sweets, and stuff like that. I am also giving toys to the hospital for kids who can't come home for the holidays.

I don't mean to be rude, but I'm kind of appalled at the tone of your question. What do you mean, "worthless gifts" or "lame bunch of gifts"? No matter what it is, people love getting gifts. It makes them happy to think that someone is thinking about them.

Was there for my friend after she got in a car wreck and shattered her hips and also had one of her best friends die in the car wreck, that count?
