Surround Sound question?

Hey all, got a problem with my surround sound, could use some help. When I have it hooked up to computer and watching something, every time someone talks there is this annoying hissing sound. It is doesn't happen while watching TV or playing on my PS3, so I'm not sure what's going on. It hasn't been doing this until just recently. I haven't changed the way it is connected or anything.

Thanks for your help,

Sam

Update:

I tried what you said Jordan. It didn't work, but I did notice that when I was holding the end that goes into the computer it was making a static like sound through my speakers. Also, when I turn down the volume control on the computer, almost eliminating the staticy sound completely. Why would this happen?

It's possible that the headphone jack on your computer does not make the best connection with you sound system. So basically what you hear is built up static in the cable. One thing you can do to try and fix this (it doesn't always work), is unplug the cable from your computer, and hold the metal end between your fingers to ground the static. You may have to do this every once in a while.

    Hope this helps!
