how do i start a charity locally?

Question

i make bows and i want to sell them in order to establish revenues to donate to various charities in my community. im only 16 so i have limited resources. id also like to be able to make it so ribbon could be donated (perhaps a spool in turn for a bow instead of money??) and donate bows to little girls in hospitals and boys and girls club. i know it seems like a wide scope of people to help but thats why id like it to be only local. if anyone knows how i could do this please any info is greatly appreciated.

If you are on limited resources, you need to look after yourself first and where you are better off, help others.  There are already many charities already  established with non-profit status to their names.  Some have become multimillionaires.  (I wish I could name a new) but if I do it will be against Yahoo's policies and this answer may be deleted. 

In order to gain a non-profit status you need to have various people helping you.  Of course, the goal of all of you have to be the same.  With a non-profit status, you could even start a church and ask for donations as it has been happening here in Los Angeles. I suggest you to research about non-profit status.  When I lived in San Francisco, there was a group that I really liked to support:  Their motto was <<Tax  the churches, the Corporations, (I  forgot the other one.)  Well, I have given you an idea. Sounds to me like part of what you want to do is raise funds for existing charities - you don't need to start a charity of your own to do that.
You won't be able to start a charity on your own as you are not yet a legal adult.  Charities need a lot of legal paperwork.

You will find many hungry kids around the streets start from them and help them as much as you can. If you dont want to give cash then give them some food and clothes.
