Average Human reaction time?
What si the average human reaction time to audio and visual stimulus. Im asking because im writing a story and i want a character to have about five times the average human reaction speed, but am not sure what to compare that to. So if you could give me ideas on what creatures five time reaction speed would be like, please list them.

All that I can go on is an Olympic sprinters average reaction time to the starter's gun. The average reaction time is .24 seconds before he begins to move. That's quick. A reaction time 5 times faster would be just under .05 seconds or almost instantaneous. Your character would border on super human and if confronted opponents would never stand a chance.

I believe it is roughly .20 seconds. I base this on my scores on random flash games testing this. You might want to try looking some of them up, I'll bet that they base the overall score on what average people are capable of.
Five times faster would be about .03-.04 seconds, based on the figure I described above.

It is around 0.2 seconds.

0.20 - 0.25 sec average although if you are startled then it is faster.
