Transfer case shifter slipping out into neutral.?

This is on a 93 Cherokee it has happened three or four times I have looked at it and it seems to use leverage to put it into the right drive selection but the rod on which the shifter pivots keeps coming out of the hole closest to the transfer case. It will never stay in. How can I get it to stay in?

there should be an adjustment on the end or center of the shifter rod , just one full turn counter clockwise should do the trick.

    good luck mrgreg1
