It is legal to have sex at age of 16 but why can't I watch porn at the age of 16?

Pornography cannot be legally sold or distributed to anyone under 18. The fact that you as a 16 year old watch it is not related and generally not a chargeable offense. If an adult man showed you porn at your age then he would be considered to be breaking the law.

Also the age of consent varies from state to state and while most are age 16 some are 18.

I think that it's mostly because all of the porn stars are over 18 years old & they're afraid that you'll be inspired to jump on the bandwagon & pull a Traci Lords. (Traci Lords made porn at 15 because she was pressured into it. Really sad story, actually.)
