Does any Democrat feel good about what their party has done to put this health care bill together?
There has been no bi-partisanship whatsoever - this was all done behind closed doors, in the dark of night, bribing Senators for their votes. No where in history has a piece of legislation come up for vote that most Americans are against.

to all the dems that say the non bi-partisanship is entirely the republicans fault. you are wrong. bi-partisan means compromise. the dems have the majority and they said if you don't like it fine will do it anyways. that is not bi-partisan nor is it working together.
anyhow. this bill does nothing. the big plan of the democrats to stop the problems caused by insurance CO. and bring health insurance to people who cant afford it is to force people to buy insurance from those same Companies(that is just *** backwards) that is unconstitutional and will most likely be challenged in the supreme court.
and all the things taken out, like the public option weren't taken out because of the rep. they were taken out because of the dems. its pretty bad that the dems can't even work with each other.

ah yes, two years ago we had this little bit of news to ponder on:
Republican Obstructionism Breaks Congressional Record
As this year's congressional session closes out, obstructionism by the Republican minority reached a fever pitch and effectively stymied much of the Democrats' legislative program. In just the past few weeks alone, two bills that made up a major part of the Democratic agenda were killed through GOP parliamentary maneuvers.
On December 7, Republicans derailed an energy bill that would have reduced dependence on foreign oil, by denying it the 60 votes it needed to make it through the Senate. Democrats were forced to pass a watered-down measure. A few days later, a bill that would have expanded government-provided health insurance for children made it through the Senate but succumbed to President Bush's veto.
The two episodes underscored what has become an epidemic of gridlock within the halls of government. Indeed, a recent study by the progressive-research organization, Campaign for America's Future, claims that "conservatives in the U.S. Senate" have set a "modern-day record for obstruction." Only half way through the 110th Congress there have been 62 cloture votes to move beyond a filibuster, one more than the previous record set during the entirety of the 107th Congress in 2002.
The congressional gridlock has been glaringly reflected in public dissatisfaction. A recent Zogby poll reveals that only 13% of Americans have a positive view of congress. But a double digit majority says it prefers Democrats -not Republicans--running Capitol Hill.

I am not technically a Democrat, but I feel fine about it. The lack of Bi-partisanship is entirely the fault of the Republicans. They refused from the beginning to even consider it, voting no immediately. These meetings you speak of were party meetings to rally the Democratic party. The Republicans had already cast their vote. Should the Democrats bring them in to party meetings just so they could obstruct them from debating it? They had their vote, without discussion. Let the Democratic Party have their vote as well.
I think you need to study your history. How accepting of the Patriot Act were most Americans? and that was just the last President. Go back farther and you will see it is actually quite common. That is one of the pitfalls of a Republic versus a democracy. Sometimes majority doesn't rule.

The Democratic Party is full of smug arrogant elitists who are out of touch with the will of the American people and reality .
