Why is it so hard for right-wingers to grasp the differences between Democratic Party politics and Marxism?

Nearly every question posted here by a right-winger uses terms like "Marxist," "socialist," and/or "Communist" to describe Obama and the Democratic majority in Congress. Yet their policies look too much like Bush's to me, and I favor a mixed economy like they have in Western Europe, not entirely socialist. So are right-wingers just trying to portray these moderates as extremists in order to win the next election, or do they really believe their own propaganda?

Update:

Wow! It would be easier if we rated answers with goobers rather than stars.

Right-wingers can't even tell the difference between Marxism, Socialism, and Communism. So why would they get anything else right. There is a difference, and the arguments would hold more weight if they actually understood the differences and were educated on the matters. Instead, they hide behind a shield of ignorance and say stuff like "it's all the same," which is kind of like saying that Methodist and Baptists and Catholics are all the same 'cause they all use the Bible and talk about Jesus. Sadly, I think some of the people believe what they say, or they're just too lazy to learn the difference because they're only real concern is if their side wins. To them, politics is like a football game.

All governments are a blend of capitalism, democracy, socialism, marxism or communist. And every other term you can think of. It's just what percentage of each component.

The reference would really mean more marxist or socialist. There is no country on earth with a pure form of any of these theoretical only terms.

You know what they mean. You are defaulting to theoretical definitions that you read in a book. Start living in the real world professor.

The "mixed economy" that the Western Europeans have that you favor, is described by them as social democracy (ie. socialism).

Some of the key tenets of socialism/marxism are the control of industry, finance, and healthcare.

So, Obama now owns the auto industry, the financial sector, and is about to take over healtcare, and will control every aspect of your life through cap and tax.

Bearing that in mind, I would challenge you to identify how the Democrat Party is different from Marxism.....as far as I can tell they're pretty much following along with the Communist Manifesto and Das Capital.

It is not the Democratic party that is marxism it is the Obama administration. Just count the avowed socialist in his administration. The marxist left has taken over what used to be an admired party the party of FDR, Harry Truman and JFK.

Simple. We understand both and appreciate the differences are few and trivial.

Pick ANY member of the Democrat Congressional Caucus. Got one? Good. Now compare his voting record to that of self-described Communist Congressman Sanders. You will find AT LEAST 96% similarity. Why is it so hard for left-wingers to grasp OBVIOUS facts?

Source(s): That should have been obvious to you.

You might favor a mixed economy, but that is not how it was instituted here. You need to conform to how this countries economy is run, or you need to think about moving to a place where you can get economic system that you want.

We don't even NEED to resort to ad hominem to win the next election. That's the beauty of it. Most people are so p*ssed off at Dems, their actions speak for themselves.

Stating facts, btw, are not ad hominem. Obama/Pelosi/Reid and the rest of the peanut gallery are extremist lunatics sinking their own ship.

GW Bush showed marxist tendencies just like the left is showing now. the Dems are going through was we call fire drills. They have not really defined themselves because they are just putting out their own fires.

with 60 senators why would any of you care what a republican thought. see my point?

Most conservatives don't know the definitions of Marxism,Communism, Socialism or Nazi and they are to lazy to educate themselves. They just want to use those words to taunt.

They are told by Fox Noise and Rush, there's no difference. Kind of like my parrot used to do before the unfortunate incident that caused his untimely demise.
