Road Trip During First Trimester?
As of Christmas day, I will be 12 weeks pregnant. On Christmas, my husband and I plan on driving a 20+ hour trip from Colorado to Tennessee to visit family. Is this safe during my first trimester? Any suggestion, ideas, concerns, etc.? Thanks for any help!

It's safe. I traveled when I was 28 weeks pregnant and was fine. It was like a 12 hour drive. We just stopped a lot to stretch and walk around. But 12 weeks you should be fine. I was worried about swelling but at 12 weeks you shouldn't have any of that yet. Have fun!!

I think you will be fine. I know whenever I go on long road trips we tend to eat unhealthy..(fast food, gas station snacks.. etc.) so the only concern I would have is to make sure you eat right. Other then that I hope you have a great time! Merry Christmas!

Drink lots of fluids, walk around every 2-3 hours and enjoy your time with your family!! It wouldn't hurt to print out a word document listing your OBGYN information and a copy of your medical records, just incase, god forbid, you need to go to a doctor while you are traveling. You can request the info from your OB anytime and he'll be happy to give it to you knowing you are traveling far away. Have fun!

It's safe, just make sure you guys drive safe and you wear your seat belt. In my first trimester I moved from Arizona to South Dakota. It was a hard trip, but we made it.

You should be just fine to travel. Just take a break or two during the drive to stretch your legs so they don't cramp up. Enjoy your holiday.
