Pros and cons of getting another guinea pig?
Despite what you might think by reading the title, I already have two female guinea pigs...I'm thinking about getting a third..but I don't know if I should get another female or get a (neutered) male..? My two girls aren't really close or anything so I was thinking that maybe if I could find a guinea pig that wasn't dominant, my dominant pig would be okay...and my submissive guinea pig would have a snuggle buddy (she tries to cuddle up to my other guinea pig, but she chases her off...)
Do you think I should add another guinea pig? (Pros and cons, please)
By the way, I already have a C&C cage - it's a 3x4 on the bottom with a 1x4 upper deck....
Thanks in advance!! :)
If it makes a difference, my oldest guinea pig is a little over a year old (she's the dominant one) and my younger girl is about a year old...
That is illogical..I got my guinea pigs MONTHS apart....they don't fight....they don't get hurt.....I had guinea pigs a long time ago that I got about a year apart and they loved each others company...

I agree with the person above me. Since yours aren't very close, I don't think adding a new one to the bunch would be a very good idea. It's a possibility that maybe they would get along, but it's also a good possibility that they won't. They actually may hurt the new one because it'd probably be very small. So I would stick with the two you already have. Maybe if they start getting along you may want to consider it, but not right now! Hope I helped!(:

If your guinea pigs at the moment aren't exactly friends i wouldn't get another. Getting another whether it be male or female could cause an even bigger rift and create jealousy, two may gang up on the other. which of course could lead to fights and could cause serious harm to them. When i had my guinea pigs, I found that the mother and daughter would stick together and isolate the other sibling, and i had to get a completely separate cage for her.

specialists: you will choose yet another guinea pig to love. you may undertake the 2nd on from a SPCA or animal rescue and save them from what their previous lives the place like. you may watch them play with one yet another, or play tug o conflict with some parsley. Cons: greater mess to freshen up, you may could get a larger cage i could propose construction a C&C cage in case you haven't any longer already women do no longer usually combat like the lads, so after some days as much as 3 weeks each little thing could be a ok!

Don't add another guinea pig. They will not get on, and they will fight, and one will get hurt. Guinea pigs love company, but they need to trust the company (meaning if you buy 2 together, then they will click after a while, but if you add another one later, they won't get along).
