Stand up and face east. Now you are facing your future because all future comes in from the east. Now! To follow Christ, you must be born of the Spirit of God in order to be led by the Spirit of God. Now that you are facing east, ANY voice that calls you or draws your attention away from Christ must be behind you and in the realm of the flesh. To follow Christ literally means you have agreed to turn your back on everything in the flesh and in the world to be FREE to follow and listen to Him. He speaks to you thru the written word and the Holy Spirit. You will always find yourself giving up something to be FREER to follow Christ as you get older and older.

You must believe that Jesus died on the cross and raised up from the tomb 3 days later. I would suggest reading the Gospel according to John, as a guide to start with. Christianity at its core is complete trust in Christ our Savior. it is not performing rituals or being a "good" person.
it is salvation through faith. praying, fasting, and reading the Holy Bible strengthens the faith. The MOST important thing is to trust Jesus, and believe that he is your ticket to heaven.
be careful there are a lot of cult groups, and false teachers that will try to deceive you. If you chose to think of Jesus as your best friend/ role model/ Savior, He will help you.

It means to believe in Christ and act how Christ would act.
This is why most Christians support war. Because it is obviously what Jesus would do.
