No, but I do distinctly remember being lied to for months about Iraq's involvement in 9-11 and their ability to wage war on the United States with "Weapons Of Mass Destruction". This was precipitated by the constant Neo-Con drone about how if anyone did not vote for military action, they would immediately be singled out as a traitor, or gay, or communist, or alien, or whatever bullshit the Neo-Con propaganda mill could think of at the time. Oh and I do remember receiving a check from the government right before that vote took place. I immediately spent it on hookers since we were ALL ABOUT TO DIE.

No matter how the libs want to spin it, this authorized the President to use military force to remove Saddam. It was in keeping with a resolution passed and signed by Clinton in the 90s that made his removal a matter of national Policy. Only a complete goof ball would think that Bush would not make use of this resolution when it was passed.

Oh and Opie, I recall the same things being said about the threat Iraq posed to the security of the region with their |WMD. Only it was the 90s and the Clinton administration was saying it. Funny how that only became a "lie" when Bush said it.

I think you're confused--but I don't blame you. This bill has had far more publicity than any other in recent memory, and the right-wing noise machine is lying about it on a daily basis. The truth is that this is the way our legislative process works. It is not called bribing in Congress; it's called compromise. This practice didn't start this year or even this decade, but you never knew about it because all of it was done out of sight and no one was picking apart every single moment of the legislative process.

Nobody voted to use military force in iraq.

    Try reading the bill.

The bill authorized the President to be able to act on his own judgment.

They had faith in GWB and realized their faith that he was a competent leader, was wrong.

The dems couldn't WAIT to jump on the bandwagon until things started to go south, THEN they became "lifelong war protesters". Typical liberal HYPOCRISY!
