I read that the US electoral system is contrary to a true Democracy?
with the current "all for one" system used in many states, a candidate would only need 51% of 11 states. Isn't that around 11% of the population being "called" the majority?
yes, I realize that the US is a republic, democratically elected officials to represent the population. But, with an "all for one" system, then 49% of our elected officials are forced to "give up" their position. If there are 6/10 reps for the same party, the the remaining four are obsolete.

Technically, we are a representative republic. And yes, that seems about right. When the Framers founded this nation, the idea was to have representative government "of the People, for the People, and by the People". From the beginning, Congress has tried to increase it's power to over rule over the states rather than the other way around. Our federal government was not meant to control our lives, it was intended to be a coalition of independent state with a government to do some things that were too big for individual states, like mail service, roads, and a standing Army. As you can see, the people who wanted more central government control have gotten their way and here we are. A minority rules against the best interest of the majority. The only difference between communism and what we are now is.... oh, wait. Never mind.

We are a Republic.
If it wasn't for the Electoral College, the 5 Biggest Populated States would elect the President every election.

Those specific 11 states have over half of the population of the US, so no it would not be like 11% of the population deciding.

We are a republic, not a democracy. That means we do not directly elect the President. I'm glad we got that cleared up.
That said, I think the electoral college is a mistake and I would vote to eliminate it if possible. If, in the year 2000, we had had direct presidential elections instead of the electoral college, George W. Bush would have lost to Al Gore and thus Bush would never have had the chance to stage his disastrous invasion of Iraq.
