The Sword of Truth - Terry Goodkind

    - An 11 book series about a man named Richard, and he has been named the "Seeker of Truth'

He lives in a world where there are three lands, that are seperated by a wall of magic. It was for protections sake. Now that the wall has come down, everyone is depending on Richard to save the world from falling into the hands of the Darken Rahl(the man trying to kill people, and take over the world). It's a REALLY good book, I suggest you try reading it.

Lord of the Rings - J.R.R. Tolkien

    - The title of the book refers to the story's main antagonist, the Dark Lord Sauron, who had in an earlier age created the One Ring to rule the other Rings of Power, as the ultimate weapon in his campaign to conquer and rule all of Middle-earth. From quiet beginnings in the Shire, a hobbit land not unlike the English countryside, the story ranges across Middle-earth following the course of the War of the Ring through the eyes of its characters, most notably the hobbits, Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee (Sam), Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) and Peregrin Took (Pippin).

The Inheritance Cycle - Christopher Paolini

    - The Inheritance Cycle is a series of literature fantasy novels by Christopher Paolini. It was previously entitled the Inheritance Trilogy until Paolini's announcement on October 30, 2007 that there would be a fourth book. Set in the fictional world of Alagaësia (pronounced /æləˈɡeɪziə/), the novels focus on a teenage boy named Eragon and his dragon Saphira as he becomes one of the few remaining Dragon Riders, a legendary group who governed the land in times past but were almost destroyed by a Rider named Galbatorix and the Forsworn, a group of thirteen Riders who betrayed their fellow Riders by swearing fealty to Galbatorix. After the Fall, when most of the Riders were slain, Galbatorix claimed the throne of Alagaësia. The tyrant king's greatest fear is that a new Rider will rise up and usurp his position as king of the Empire. Through the efforts of the rebel group, the Varden, and their leader/founder, Brom (in collusion with Jeod and Hefring) a dragon egg is stolen from Galbatorix, and by a whim of fate, is thrust upon a young farmboy in Palancar Valley named Eragon. As Galbatorix attempts to capture Eragon and his dragon, Eragon begins a journey into the past and the future of Alagaësia.

Well, the Princess Diaries series is not about wizards or anything, just an awkward teen girl in Manhattan who discovers she's the heir to a small European principality. It's more of a teen series, I'm not sure if that's what you want or not, but they're so funny but deep kind of too ha ha.

Also, the Hunger Games was a fantastic book. It's not really long but I couldn't put it down when I read it, absolutely fabulous. I haven't read the sequel Catching Fire yet but I heard that's great too.

Another book I loved was Airborn or something of the sort with a sequel called Sky Breaker. I forget what it's called exactly but it's a fabulous series, just incredible.

There's a hilarious series by Gerald Morris about the knights of the round table. It sounds dry, but it's not at all. It's very contemporary. There's 6 or 7 books, the first one being "The Squire's Tale".

My sister loved the "Redwall" series by Brian Jacques, but I didn't care so much for that... If you like animals and fantasy stories, you'd like that one.

Have you read the Eragon trilogy? Badly written, but an entertaining, quick read.

    Hope I helped!

I doubt there's anything quite like Harry Potter out there. That being said, you might enjoy Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. There are witches, wizards, an institution of higher learning (highly satirized), and various non-humans including vampires, werewolves, dragons, trolls, and dwarfs.

Try Bran Hambric by Kaleb Nation.

Bran Hambric was found locked in a bank vault at six years old, with no memory of his past. For years, he has lived with one of the bankers, wondering why he was left behind -- until one night, when he is fourteen, he is suddenly confronted by a maddened creature, speaking of Bran’s true past and trying to kidnap him.

Bran finds that he is at the center of a plot which started years before he was even born: the plot of a deadly curse his mother created…and one that her former masters are hunting for him to complete.

Haunted by the spirit of his mother’s master and living in a city where magic is illegal, Bran must undo the crimes of his past...before it is too late.

You can read the first four chapters here:

Also, it isn't about magic, but it's a great series to get into. The Mortal Instruments.

This urban fantasy series opener spices its fight against evil with sexual tension. Fifteen-year-old geek hipster Clary thought she was just a normal kid, but normal kids don't see invisible people, and normal kids' mothers don't suddenly disappear, seemingly captured by horrific monsters. But like many fantasy heroines, Clary isn't normal, and she's got all the secret parentage, dramatic revelations, and amazing magic powers to prove it....The story's sensual flavor comes from the wealth of detail: demons with facial piercings, diners serving locusts and honey, pretty gay warlocks, and cameo appearances from other urban fantasies' characters....Lush and fun.
