There is a wonderful book called 'Fantastic Voyage'. It was even made into a seriously bad science fiction movie. It is all about how people were shrunk down and injected into the body of somebody and went through their circulatory system. You can do something similar; think future, think submarines, think science fiction, Star Wars, Star Trek, phasers, whatever. Let your imagination run wild -- then mix in your hard medical facts.
