Here's a lesson to learn from this:
Don't let Norton anywhere near any computer, any time.
To be honest, I have no idea how to get it off. Completely uninstalling Norton from my Dad's machine was one of the most frusterating tasks I have ever undertaken.
The only thing I can suggest is to go into Spotlight and dump everything with "Norton" in its name. You may need to un-hide hidden files using the Terminal, you can find a guide to doing this online if you need to.
And to those suggesting deleting the application from the application folder - it's a Norton product, it will never work the way it should. :P

Easy. Just go into the Applications folder, and drag it to your trash. Then, empty the trash by click and holding down on the trash icon on the dock, and then select "Empty Trash." There might be some small, hard to access files left behind somewhere on your computer, but for the most part the program is gone forever, never to bother you again.
Hope this helps.
Also- you DON'T need any fancy application to get rid of another application.
