Need help with this decision.?

How do I tell my ex I really love her without her backing down and ruining my friendship with her? We dated for about a month and our connection was stronger than any of my past girls. Physically, mentally, and emotionally. Our connection broke because I felt she was gonna break-up with me for my friend but she told me I was immature and should have talked to her in the first place. Now I feel stupid and want to make-up but she said we needed to get to know each other first and have it grow back over time. IDK how long that will take!!! I'm might leave for the Military soon and I won't find a prettier Christian girl than her. Is there any hope at all? How long til I get her back in my arms again? Or is it already too late? So I need someone to tell me exactly how to finally make-up my old relationship with her. HELP PLEASE!!!
