Whats your general view on the "reality" show There's Something About Miriam?
It personally makes me sick. I feel like puking, and I'm just so bored I have to go on a rant about it. Who would watch that? Who's idea was it to humiliate both the contestants and the main character on international television?
It not only degrades transsexuals but it supports the transphobic idea that every transwoman lies about being a woman just to hook up with men. I'm surprised the show even aired. And I don't personally have any opinion on Miriam because she's a total dumbass for exploiting herself. Her exact words at the end were "I'm not a woman" she deserves to be slapped.

I watched the last two episodes because I randomly came across them on youtube one day. I thought it was ridiculous how she's all like 'i love being a woman, but guess what guys! fooled you! i'm not a woman!' and then the guys are all laughing really hard. It was ridiculous. I mean come ON.
The show does absolutely nothing to dispel the negative connotations and stereotypes that so often surround transgenderism. It saddens me to see that shes letting herself and trans issues be depicted in such a way. I feel pretty angry about it too- you're not the only one!

I never saw it, but I very much dislike the premise for all the reasons you said.
However, I recently saw Calpernia Addam's reality show "Transamerican Love Story" and absolutely adored it- one of the few romance-style reality shows I watched with unabashed love in a LOGO marathon.

well the producers either meant it to be demeaning or they tried to open peoples eyes and say it doesnt matter how they were its what they are now.
personally demeaning seems to fit in more
