What are some board games to play with family on Christmas?

I was gonna buy a board game to play with my family on christmas day. So far I've narrowed it down to Apples to Apples, Taboo, Scattergories and Guesstures.

Any suggestions?

I've never played Taboo or Guesstures, but Apples to Apples and Scattergories are really fun games. Probably mine and my families favorites. Apples to Apples is a little bit longer, so if you are looking for something to do, I suggest playing that. While Scattergories is shorter, but just as fun. I can't pick which one I like best as I like them both the same...which is a lot(: But everyone's opinion is different, so you may like them a lot or a little.

Also, Apples to Apples is more fun with more people. While Scattergories can go both ways. Anyways, good luck and Merry Christmas!!

You should definitely check out the board game QUELF. It's a great family game consisting of trivia, dares, group questions/dares, and etc. Everyone is always involved and laughing throughout the game. It's almost like a bunch of games put in one (guesstures, pictionary) It's one of those games where all the players have to be willing to make a fool of themselves by performing in front of everyone.

Here's some samples of the different cards:

a Showbiz card might require a player to pull out some moves: ‘No one likes to do the chicken dance. But you do. So set the timer and do the chicken dance until the timer runs out. If you don’t know it, fake it. Make all poultry proud.”

A Stuntz card will might require that a parent perform an outrageous act (something kids always enjoy): Put your forefingers in your ears, your thumbs in your mouth and your pinky fingers in your nostrils. Once everything is in place you must say the following three times at the top of your voice, “Feels good don’t it?”.

Roolz cards ask just a player or sometimes all players to obey whatever rule is on the card. With several Roolz in play at once – the game gets even more hilarious: For the remainder of the game every sentence that you speak must end with the words, “Hear me for I have spoken!”

Source(s): I play it about once every two weeks with my family and friends. Everytime I have company over, they beg to play the game!

Taboo is loads of fun. Everyone will be laughing if you choose Taboo. Depending on the interests of your family, you might consider trivial pursuit or cranium. There is also a new game, Quelf, good for families with teenagers.

Try Pictionary, the card one, not the Pictionary man.
