Yugioh Gemini Monsters?

I dont get it. How do they get their effects? What does it mean normal summon it while it is on the field? Do you like have to have one, then summon another one??

Basically, Gemini Monsters are effect monsters that have their effects "off". To get their effects you have to normal summon again. What this means is that you are sacrificing your normal summon (meaning I can't normal summon/set another monster that turn) to turn their effects on.

    Example:

I summon a Gemini Monster, such as Tuned Magician.

For the time being he does not have his effect.

Next turn, I "normal summon/gemini summon" Tuned Magician so he gets his effect.

    Example 2:

I tribute summon King Pyron, another gemini monster.

For the time being he does not have his effect.

Next turn, I do the same thing for King Pyron. Even though King Pyron is a Level 5 monster, to "gemini summon" a Level 5 or high Gemini monster requires no tributes.

    Example 3:

I summon a Tuned Magician. Again, he doesn't have his effect yet.

Next turn, I summon another Tuned Magician. Because I didn't "gemini summon" either monster, neither of them have their effects.

I know the others explained a lot but i just wanna add some extra things........

K lets pick a random gemini monster eg: my favourite IL Blud

Here is his effect atk, type, attribute and lvl:

    Il Blud

    Dark/Zombie- Dual/6/2100/800

This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:

    ● Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Zombie-Type monster from your hand or from either player's Graveyard. When this card is removed from the field, destroy all Zombie-Type monsters Special Summoned by this effect.

    Explanation:

1.K for the first part he is a normal monster when he is tributed from your hand he gains no effect he can only attack.

2.If he survives until your next turn you can choose not to summon any monsters but instead turn him into a gemini monster which is called the second summon otherwise gemini summon. You can just declare you second summon it to your opponent while not summoning another monster that turn. However, if your gemini monster is lv5 or higher u DO NOT NEED to tribute any thing for ur second summon.

3.If you manage to understand and do step 2 his effect activates and you can sp summon zombies blah blah blah.........

2nd way to activate his effects:

    1. You can choose to use cards such as book of life to sp summon it from your graveyard and not summon anything this turn and activate his effect like in step 2. Hope you get it.

    DRAWBACKS:

1.If the gemini monster is flipped face down and flip it face up later it loses its effect and you have to second summon it again.

2.It also loses its effects when it is removed from play, sent to the graveyard or sent back to your deck and you have to repeat the processes that I have previously explained.

Hope this is not long winded hope u understand!

you pretty much summon that monster twice. one as a normal summon then another normal summon to activate its effect. think of it as a prolonged effect monster. for example you have evocater chevalier(lvl 4 gemini monster) in your hand.. you normal summon it as if its a normal monster.. then in your next turn instead of summoning another monster you can activate its effect by gemini summoning it (it is like normal summoning when the card is already on the field).. i thought it was confusing at first but i hope this helps

gemini requires you to use 2 turns to summon them for the effects. Once a regular summon then your next turn you summon it again. I usually don't use gemini because i have to waste a turn of not summoning.

can a normal monster attack a gemini monster? or would your opponent need an additional gemini monster in order to attack your gemini?
