i think keds would be better not really too youthful. or if you could pull off converse that could be ok.

I think a plain coloured pair of converse would be okay but keds aren't too youthful either so either and you'll look fine

in my opinion converse. keds can sometimes end up looking like a nurse's uniform (not flattering).
