I am having my wedding June 26, 2010. Any suggestions for a menu or food that I should have my caterer serve?

a great summer wedding menu is;
chilled wines, fruit punches with and without alcohol, iced tea sweet and not
cold shrimp and oysters with cocktail sauce
cold cut station, rolled roast beef, ham and turkey
sliced cheeses, and platters of assorted rolls and crackers
veggie platters with ranch dressing
chunky fruit salad with yogurt sauce

lobster, anything summer like. shrimp cocktail, steak tartar, cooler flavored foods..seafood is food for that, bound salads..like potato salad type things but more sophisticated, you can ask your caterer. also look online for summer recipes and menus that restaurants have done. chicken picatta, or pastas are a very good choice, you could do a spaghetti and meat sauce, and penne and alfredo for the vegetarians and people who just like alfredo better! and you dont have to do an italian theme.. you can just do whatever you think will taste good together. you could even do an around the world theme at a food bar, so people can pick what they want. that doesnt mean its trashy or anything, its just that you are thinking of other people. most weddings i have been to have serve yourself and its so much better cause you dont have to eat all at the same time.
A lively mixture of lettuce, strawberries, almonds, and feta is tossed with a tangy oil and vinegar dressing! -- i got that from the web about summer salads, and not all salads are greens and people will think it is very interesting and fun to have a salad that doesnt consist of greens.

IF you want to have something different , think about serving afternoon or high tea. The menu can be varied as expensive or inexpensive as you want it to be. Check out www.your-cup-of-tea.com for some great menu ideas.

Have a little salad bar, also make some baked potatoes with coleslaw.

You should offer a vegetarian option as well as a meat option. I would stick with salad, appetizer or pasta, main course (meat or veggie), and dessert.
