G1 root help?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Yeah, I need two things. One is a link for Cyanogen's ROMS but but from 4.11.1 downward. Espeically 4.0.4.[That'll be a little hard =)] Secondly, I need a Myfaves.apk, I'm not the best app maker in the world, and for something that uses part of the bill, i really need it. Any version of myfaves is ok, as long as i can add, remove, manage, and edit contacts. I mostly need the ROMS, I can survive without the myfaves. Thanx!

Hi, I must have added you as a friend at some piont because this question was sent to me via e-mail. Soooo, I tried to find an answer even though I have no expertise in this area. Here goes nothing:

this link provides the cyanogen's mod v4.0. If you want any lower, just replace the 4 in the HTML address to 5, 6, 7 etc. This author appears to have kept an archive of all the releases.
And for that "Myfaves" thing you wanted, I googled it and I found this:

Download the MyFaves.apk here:

Put the apk on the root of your sd card.
Then through the terminal enter:
# su
# mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3
# cp /sdcard/MyFaves.apk /system/app
Reboot and you have My Faves
