Why is a PSX emulator so hard to set up?

I have a N64 emulator and all I had to do was download it and a game and could play it just by opening it. Why does the PSX require so many codes, setups, configs, and this and that.........?

I've tryed a few like delta but they all require so much and the help section is not doing its job. it tells you WHAT to do but not HOW.

what are technical things behind it all and is their a easy one out there?

Because the play station is a complicated console.

It's not that hard to setup though. The main thing you need is a BIOS file. The rest is just tweaking it to get the best performance with your computer. Even on a powerful machine the performance might not be that good.
