Question for people who saw the new movie "Avatar?"?

I haven't seen it but I would like to know how it's racist too! Check on yahoo and try to find that article. Maybe search "Avatar racism" or "Racism in Avatar Movie"

Some people think it may be racist against white people. It is insinuating that whites are imperialists.

Personally, I could not believe all the flap over this today. The first time I saw the trailer I could see that this was analogous to the war in Iraq as well as Anglo-Saxon conquest of North America and the people indigenous to this continent. If there was going to be controversy about it why didn't they bring it up then?

Furthermore, just about every story has other meanings, good stories anyway. People should read/watch them and take what they want from it rather than worry about what everyone else is taking from it.

Its a great movie. ppl always try to find bad in everything. yes it does shine a light on the world now with going green, war, and everything but like I said its just a great movie. Some say it was racist because of what the avatars wear and their hair. But whatever-- good movie

Because the way James Cameron portrayed the Na'vi people was a mix between the Native Americans and the African tribal people and it showed the white people coming in and take their land away.

Its a great movie but like everything people always have to find something wrong with it. *Rolls eyes*

Something about it being racist to white people *rolls eyes* but I don't really think it was. Just a bunch of critics with their undies up in a bunch.

It was good movie and very enjoyable. I hope to see it again!!!

comparing it to american indians. and africans. Imperialism etc

it really just depends on how you take it. you obviously didnt see it as racist, i didnt either but there are people out there who believe it was. can have an epic movie now a days without stepping on any ones toes.

Basically they are saying that the "whites" are doing to the Na vi what they had done to the Africans and American Indians. Trying to take what isn't there's.
