My theory is, is religion was created for many reasons. The main ones being are that everyone feels more secure feeling a purpose in life. I feel that the idea of a god and a heaven would serve as a comfort to people to "know" that ultimately they will end up in a ,waht's the word, sanctuary. I mean it is a scary thing facing the unknown and being confident as to what is going to happen to you puts that fear at ease, which i feel religion does for people. I also think that part of religion is just a way to instill morals upon people. For instance someone may think that if one is not serving for a higher purpose why should one have to be "good" or do "good" . The final reason, and the reason i am agnostic and not purely atheist, is because life is to wonderful, too magical, too unpredictable, too once in a lifetime to not have a reason. I think that only a god or an incredably good higher being could allow humans to feel the amazing emotions and think incredible thoughts. Religion is corupt yes but it is something people cling to because it gives structure to those who need stucture in their lives. People who need something to live by

It's not about logic it's about faith. Sure some stories might seem crazy, but look at all the good religion has brought. If there were no religion, then what would be the point of living. If there is not afterlife, then why would I do anything good with my life. I personally believe that the Bible is truth, and I am not ignorant.

Snakes often represent Satan/the devil and so on...

the worlds common sense does not under stand the spiritual
it is foolishness to them
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
