Throat is killing me help Please?!?!?

2 mornings ago i woke up with a sore throat and it wasnt that bad and so i went to school. Yesterday i woke up and my tonsils where swollen and i had a whole bunch of white and yellow patches all over them and my uvula. It hurts really bad and i cant swallow. does anyone have any advice?

Update:

i went to the doctors yesterday and they told me it was strep according to a quick test thing they did, something to the with culture or something like that

Update 2:

they told me it WASNT strep - sorry -_-

    You could be having strep throat and will need antibiotics for this,you really should be seen by a Dr.but in the mean time for your sore throat,get a glass of warm water,add a teaspoon of salt to it and mix it up and then gargle with it,the salt will help take the soreness out of your throat,I hope that you feel better soon and this salt solution really works well,gargle with it at least 3 times a day,Tomb Raider.

    Well when that happened to me I had to go to the hospital adn i had tonsilitis. They should give you some antibiotics and tylenol and send you out.
