Does the Pill cause hyperpigmentation?

You could be pregnant or... If you have a darker skin tone... Olive or if you are african american you can just randomly have that line. I've had the line since before I was pregnant and it just got darker once I was. The birth control could possibly release hormones that make it darker... But its probably just your skin tone. =)

I'm not sure about it causing the line on your abdomen but the pill can cause skin pigmentation called malasma. Sometimes after stopping the pill it can be reduced and being pregnant can also cause malasma. A common site for it is on the face or neck.

I was on birth control for 8 years and developed a brown pigmentation around the right side of my mouth. It wasn't very noticeable especially with make up on but my doctor told me it was melasma from birth control and it's not harmful.

Um that's from pregnancy, the linea nigra isn't from birth control. Take a test.
