My eyes appear to change colour. Is this normal?

My eyes are sort of a mixture between blue, green, or grey; all three colors blend into each other.

However, that changes when I wear blue, green, or grey clothing.

When I'm wearing a blue shirt, my eyes appear to be the exact same shade of blue as the one that I'm wearing. Same for green shirts and grey shirts.

Now, I realize that my eyes aren't ACTUALLY changing colour. What I'm wondering is, how the heck does this work? I guess I'm just looking for further information on the subject.

I've looked into this and there is alot of speculation. My eyes change from medium mocha brown, to light brown/green, all the way up to almost an amber yellow color. It's always been strange to me too, but to debunk the clothing thing, I've looked in the mirror when getting out of the shower and when clothed and there is little or no difference. I believe over the years, since maybe about age 10, that I've noticed this phenomenon, I think it has alot to do with mood. Kind of like a mood ring. Might sound outlandish, but its been said for centuries that the eyes are the windows to the soul. And typically on a nice, bright Sunday, when all is well, football is on, is when I most often see the amber color. And this isn't just me noticing, other people have commented if I was wearing different contacts. Call me crazy, but hey, it's just the facts.

Yes this is this is normal . my eyes are usually an even mix of green /light brown, however when I wear brown then my eyes look totally brown. It's just that the different colours you wear in your clothing seems to bring out and emphasises

the existing tones in your eyes.Conversely when wearing green in my clothes the same does not happen. my eyes remain green/brown.

lol you have gray eyes , me too they rulez :D gray eyes are lightest eye color (even that they don't look so light) they have very low melanin or smthn so they are easily manipulated by surroundings
