Who else thinks that "Avatar" is a good movie?
Well, people are saying that Avatar is racist, anti-war, and is suppose to send a message for people to stop fighting and love the world.
I think its a good thing, and I dont think its racist at all.
People are putting it down and saying it itsnt good because of these messages.
Its honestly the best movie I have ever seen and I wish people would stop taking it so seriously.
How can it be racist when the Avatars dont really even exist??
Its fiction, I wish people would realize that.
Does anyone feel the way I do?? Am I the only one??

Well although it may be fiction, almost always there are underlying and very real messages... and for many people from far and wide to feel this same way clearly shows that there is some reailty woven into this particular film... that being said, here is my take on the film:
The movie presents itself as America vs the world... and all of the countries within it... the navie people (spelling?) represent the world collectively... and as you can see (and cannot dispute) the culture of these natives is not FICTION, it is a combination of many cultures worldwide...
It is racist as it portrays intially the americans to be superior to the natives (ie arrows vs heavy amo)
Nontheless, the movie also has some environmental and economic undertones of which I will not get into...
In the end, the movie does redeem itself and show the destruciton of the anatonigists (ie America)...BUT it also sends another message that not many, infact very few pick up on:
SELF-DESTRUCTION! Why in the end, would they show Sully to kill himself?!
This was very very disappointing and made me dislike this movie ever so much... and I understand that the defence is he wanted to be w/ his new people/girl... but still the message sent there is very disturbing...
In conclusion, the movie WAS fiction, it was awesome, but it has some very real messages that perhaps your depth of analysis overlooked?
Just my take.

Racist how?
Who made that connection? lol It's their planet they have a different colour of skin, that's how it is, it's not racist?
I think it's just people trying to have a dig at hollywood, you always get a bunch of (ignorant) people calling blockbusters racist or homophobic.
I actually saw an argument about how Avatar is anti-gay because they were no lesbians or hermaphrodites (It's on IMDB forums). The movie's not centered around sex so I have no idea how people can make these ridiculous connections.
I think it's either people trying to incite an argument, critics trying to create anti-hype or people trying to have a dig at hollywood. Either way they don't have any solid evidence as to why it is racist, and it's completely based of ridiculous assumptions.
Like calling the Avatar's "smurfs" could be seen as fictional racism, only connection being that they're blue. It's like calling R2D2 the terminator lol
Movie was great, I've never met anyone that didn't like it and I know tonnes of people that saw it. There are always a few that make ridiculous arguments, just ignore them, their arguments get shot down almost instantly

Saving inner maximum Ryan. I walked out of the action picture because of the fact i grew to become into so unhappy. BQ: happy Birthday Emily Blunt! i've got no longer considered a lot of her video clips, yet i will flow with The devil Wears Prada. BQ2: i do no longer nescessarily think of of grave of the fireflies whilst a new child is giggling. i'm greater possibly to think of of My Neighbor Totoro. And no, this hasn't particularly exceeded off to me. BQ3: i might say maximum human beings provide some comprehend to precise critics, yet no longer lots. For me, in my view, i flow on RT and learn the Critic comments to the consumer comments. in the event that they the two get a first rate score, then i will flow see the action picture. in spite of the undeniable fact that, i would be truthful that I even have considered some video clips rotten tomatoes gave a terrible score (via critics) and that i concept grew to become into ok . a stable occasion for me is regulation Abiding Citizen. desire this helps.

Oh no no no, you are far from the only one who thinks that Avatar has sent a good message to the world. I too believe that humans are literally killing our "mother," as in earth. I thought is was very inspiring, and I actually would rather live as a Na'vi on Pandora
