My first few thoughts as I read this: 1) santa coming to town.....you mean satan coming to town. 2) the boy's comments concerning the dead bird; HAHAHAHAHA children are brutally HONEST, don't tell them lies, they'll see past it and through it. In raising my children I Always told them I will never lie to you. {Before I became a Christian, I used to do these disgusting things.} Then, as my children got older each one in turn found out there is no such thing as santa claus, it's a lie your parents tell you. Finally, we came to my youngest, she came to me one day and said to me: "momma, you always said you would never lie to me. But, you did. You lied about the tooth fairy the easter bunny, and santa claus." She was very disappointed in me, to say the very least. And I, I felt about this.........tiny. How insignificant I felt. I had been lying to my children all along. And Don't we tell our children to not lie?!!!! All the while, we are lying to them....teaching them to lie, showing them by example; while telling them to not lie. ADD: I realized I didn't directly answer the question, so I came back. To add to what has already been answered. Some people will excuse it saying: "We don't do it for those reasons." OR "For us it's about the family being together." But, the fact is, it is in direct opposition to the word of Jehovah God. In God's word the Bible it tells us, if one observes a Holy day, and another one doesn't we are not to judge that one that does. THIS does not make it acceptable, activites for a Christian. It is only an admonishment for us (mankind) to not judge each other. The judgement of man is for Jehovah and His Son. (lemme go find the Scripture, brb)
