I Just Got Mine And i Have No Idea what To Put In It!

If You Can Just Tell Me What You Have In Yours That Would Be Awesome :)

Thanks!

Everyone's binder varies, depending on their level and skating preferences. But in general, most people have a list of things to do during the practice. Mine looks something like this:

    WARMUP:

    -stroking

    -crossovers

    -power pulls

    -cross rolls

    SPINS:

    -scratch/back scratch spin

    -sit/back sit spin

    -camel/flying camel spin

-combination spin (camel, sit spin, cannon, back sit, change of edge, pancake, tornado.)

-flying spin combination (flying camel, back sit, twist, sit spin, broken sit, haircutter.)

    JUMPS:

    -waltz jump

    -axel

    -double sow

    -double toe

    -and so on...

of course, everyone is a different level, so you might be working on different things if you're higher or lower than me. but i hope you get the general idea. =)

    -Music

    -Kleenex (in the pocket)

    -Chapstick (in the pocket)

-Articles you find about skating that you think are helpful

    -List of things to practice

-Calendar of skating events you are participating in

    -Moves in the Field diagrams

-Diagrams of different footwork patterns and programs

-Notes from your lessons (Write down things your coach teaches you right after your lesson)

    -Skating goals

-Record of skate sharpening (so you don't forget how long it's been)

-List of warm-up activities (after awhile you'll probably memorize this though)

-Score sheets from tests (If you don't pass a test, you can work on fixing things the judges didn't like)

-I have a picture of Alissa Czisny from her 2009 championship win because I think she's inspiring ,and when I'm having an off day on the ice, I can draw encouragement from it.

-Ask your coach what she wants in your binder; she may have some things to add!

I keep my music in my binder. My coach also makes sheets for me on stuff to practice, and I keep my moves in the field packets and other competition information packets and things in there. My coach has us fill out our goal sheet and I keep it in there to look back on. Stuff like that.
