Do you think It's a lie, to tell children that Santa Claus brought the presents?.?

A lie, is a lie PERIOD. But to some people, they think telling this "white lie" is O.K. To me, lies have no colors. A lie, is lie. What do you think? Do you think you should continue the tradition or do you think you should stop saying it?.

It isn't so much a lie as continuing a myth and there is a big difference. Lying is about covering something bad up whereas believing in Santa is about making kiddies smile and giving them some joy for a very short time. Life has enough harsh realities without introducing kids to them too soon.

Its called letting your child be a child and have something to look forward to and enjoy. life is hard enough and filled with hate I think its great that they believe. I dont know of one person that was mad at there parents when they found out about santa.

I did however add to it a bit with my kids because we had very wealthy friends and they always brought much bigger and expensive gifts for there kids then we could ever afford. so instead of letting them think they were not as good or Santa didnt like them as much we told our kids that the parents had to help pay for everything and thats why some kids got more then others.

A lie is a lie but I would continue the traditon, along with telling the truth after a couple of years.

  • well i dnt celebrate but i know for a fact that kids love it until they find out the truth wich they will since children are very curios as to they are growing a tradition is a tradition wich almost all america goes by so just do it and tell them before they crush all the other kids dreams about santa becauase u crush theiers

I wouldn't call it lying, I would call it joyful. Parents telling their young children that a man with a white beard and a red coat gives them presents is a tradition in today's society. It's what every other mom and dad does, and it adds to the Christmas cheer.

nah.... This "white lie" brings joy to kids. It would be wrong to take it away early... I guess its all about personal beliefs.
