Blood Test After Fight For Manny And Floyd?
I dont understand why the Floyd needs the USADA to do the blood test 7 times during training camp and urine test 15 times. Wont steriods and HGH show up RIGHT after the fight in a blood test? The USADA does the test randomly and could do the test as soon as 2 says before the fight. I dont undertand why 3 test arent enough. Do steriods enter and leave the body so fast?
They are negotiating, so why not come to a compromise instead of using exactly what Mayweather wants. Manny is not saying no blood at all, he is saying none withen a month period, and the USADA only does it one way with 7 blood test at any time, which could result in blood being taken hours before the fight.
@ALEX....Since when is every world class athlete tested this way? This certain method is only used in the Olympics which uses only AMATUER boxers and happens every 4th year. Pacquiao wants the method that is used on all world class athletes, Floyd is DEMANDING they use USADA standerds.

Testing after the fight is a better idea and more commonly used. Also testing positive after a fight is way worst than before a fight. Pacquiao shouldn't be blamed for not wanting a blood test 48 hours before the fight. Avoiding any harm to the body a few days before the fight is an effective way to be prepared and focus. The biggest reason for the USADA random testing is to ensure that any athlete will not win by illegal substances and thus avoid the controversial decision of a default win. Not many people would enjoy a victory by default. An arrogant and proud fighter like Floyd would especially hate it. You could make accusations of foul play. Such as planning to weaken his opponent's mentality before the fight, but there are other alternatives to that.

“Most states don’t test for steroids,” says Dr. Margaret Goodman, former Nevada Chief Ringside Physician and Chairman of the Nevada State Athletic Commission Medical Advisory Board. “In Nevada, we test fighters on championship cards. In New Jersey, they test every fighter for steroids. If we’d do what’s done in the Olympics or what the World Anti-Doping Agency recommends – sporadically test them during training – that would really be the best way. But if you check them right before or after a fight, they’ll test negative. Boxers are just as smart as anyone else and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to go online and look at how long a certain drug stays in your system.”
30 days. That a little over four weeks. Now, if you recall Sin City, from this very thread, certain steroids can be out your system in as little as two weeks. Try again.
So who's more credible pactards or a Doctor?
Good day, sir.

Well I certainly wouldn't agree with a Pacquiao fanatic. Common sense tells you red blood cells take weeks to reproduce after donating. But with the trillions of them in your blood stream you have nothing to worry about. You'll feel fine within hours. With a boxing match of this magnitude I would agree to random drug testing, which will not hurt either boxer. Pacquiao making it a issue brings speculation. Knowing when the test are to be done will give either the possibility to cheat. If they're so concerned with the red blood cell count keep hydrated and take iron supplements. Arguments over such subject is ridiculous and it's just a promotional stunt to get you talking, which seems to be working.

What would that do? An after the fact positive testing will not alter the outcome of the bout in the minds of many fans who can always claim that the results were rigged. It will not also result in fans and sponsors getting a refund of the money they pay for the fight. It's better for tests to be done immediately before ( a few days ) and right after the fight. That way, in event of any positive findings before the fight, appropriate measures can be taken so that the boxing paying fans and sponsors will not be cheated of their money. What is not understandable in any proposal that will ensure the legitimacy of boxing and protect the interests of its patrons?

All top athletes from around the world that represent their perspective countries go through it.So why can't the worlds #1P4P go through it?"IF"manny won the fight and tested positive then Arum and GBP will be in the courts forever then we have to deal with another fight on this forum.Manny just take the test and step up to the plate.Enough of the games and trying to get manny away to wiggle out of this.

i think both camps are now skipping the USADA. they will use protocols from the big league sports as suggested by ARUM as a compromise.
there could be more than 3 blood tests but only until a certain period before the fight and immediately after the fight.

arum thinks it's simply harassment by the floyd camp on pacquiao.
i think the protocols from the governing boxing commission should be enough. these guys are not amateur athletes going to the olympics for the gold medal. and they are not bound by law to be subjected to USADA testing protocols-- these guys are subjected to the professional boxing governing association for the their bout (and the state of Nevada ruling).
but with this special request from floyd-- i agree with arum's suggestion. and pacquiao will not let himself be harassed around, he is not even legally bound to undergo USADA testing. why should he be-- he is not going to the olympics? but to appease floyd and the rest of the boxing fans he will be subjected to blood testing (but not on the day of the fight itself which is ridiculous).

Aha, maybe one is just trying to avoid this fight, and you could guess who he is. The one that cackles the most.
