Question for Believers about Christmas?
For Believers who have come to understand the true roots of Christmas, of how it began and what it was really about, do you still celebrate it? If you have chosen not to observe the holiday, how do you address it with family and friends when they ask your plans for Christmas?
Thanks for your input.
For some may not mean much, but I wonder how Jesus feels about it:
Mar 7:7 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'
Mar 7:8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men."

My family has always celebrated Christmas. Christmas for us is about celebrating the birth of Christ, regardless of what was celebrated in the past. Just about every American knows the roots of this country. Hundreds of thousands of Native Americans died as a result of this nation being formed, yet we still take pride in its history. Our entire American culture is based off the act of borrowing from other cultures and then changing it to make it unique to us. So why would knowing the history of the Christmas change how I feel about celebrating it?

I still celebrate it even though i know the origins of Christmas and how secular it got. The idea is to go along with the church if it was to be Christmas eve mass or caroling or even reconciliation before Christmas

xians feel that they can stuff whatever they do up their god's nose and he has to love it, even though he called it an abomination and said those that mix pagan worship with his worship would be cut off from his presence. xians say their god lied, and loves anything they do. Their Paul said don't mix pagan stuff with true worship, but why would he know any more than their god ?

I celebrate Christmas as the birth of Christ with the sure knowledge that he has "put all enemies under his feet".
1Cr 15:25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
